Co Thiee worked as an illustrator, graphic designer and film director before becoming a professional artist in 2006. In 2011, he won the second prize at the Myanmar National Portrait Competition organised by River Gallery in Yangon. His recent works are created with the use of palette knives. His landscape paintings often depict the beauty of the Shan State and Chin State in Myanmar, with a particular focus on the grains of trees as he enjoys the art of bonsai. He has exhibited his works in more than thirty shows locally and internationally, including in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and US.
Dream Dimension Series
His new series Dream Dimension draws on the raw emotions of his dreams where he was consumed by new languages and cultures, and new shapes and forms that constantly changed. He did not want to be the sole witness to the beauty he saw. Through the creation of this series, he invites his love ones on a personal journey into his dreams. “I slept with art and let it subsume my dreams.”
