Aung Kyaw Hein graduated from the State School of Fine Art in Yangon in 2009, majoring in oil painting.
He studied under his father, Shwe Daung, an artist, and other artists such as Kyaw Thu Rein, Kyaw Than and Win Pe Myint.
He is known for his distinctive style of painting heavily textured trees in strong colours, against a matte and almost surrealist background depicting rural Myanmar.
He has participated in more than 20 group exhibitions in Myanmar.
